TSW Management Services Inc. is seeking a Commercial Underwriter for its Calgary Office!

As an Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting and servicing accounts in accordance with established guidelines of our Delegated Authority Contracts and help support the division’s business objectives and grow the current portfolio.

YOUR DAY AS AN UNDERWRITER

• Prices individual risk selection decisions within underwriting guidelines, contract authority limits and company standards.
• Analyzes new business for risk profitability and assesses exposures and hazards as determined by review of underwriting data.
• Manages renewals – underwriting, negotiating renewal terms directly with the broker teams, file set up, quoting, follow up for required information, underwriting claims as required and maintaining expiry list.
• Brokers referrals to various underwriters in London and Domestic markets (where required).
• Manages policy changes – underwriting, quoting and issuing policy change documents.
• Works with broker teams on account inquiries.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Minimum 5+ years of commercial underwriting experience with exposure to construction accounts, COC’s and wrap-up liability.
• CIP designation or equivalent and/or actively working on completing this designation
• Excellent computer skills including strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
• Attention to detail and precision are essential
• Flexibility; ability to prioritize multiple ongoing tasks
• Ability to work well independently, as part of a team and with others throughout the organization
• Customer-focused and service-oriented
• Knowledge of EPIC, LEO and/or Lloyds lineage an asset

OFFICE INFORMATION

Our Calgary office is situated in Kensington, ten minutes away from the Peace Bridge. Employees often enjoy walking along the river during their lunch break with Princes Island being close by. Our office is easily accessible for employees by car and public transit and there are bike racks in our building
